Snowmobile Safety
Take a snowmobile safety course
Don't drink and ride - remember that alcohol and snowmobiles don't mix
Plan your snowmobile trip ahead of time and inform a reliable friend of your
intended route
Before your snowmobile trip, check the weather forecast
Make sure your snowmobile is in good working condition
Take a first-aid course and carry a first-aid kit, spare parts and tools
Wear a snowmobile helmet and eye protection when snowmobiling
Wear appropriate reflective snowmobile clothing - avoid loose or baggy clothing
Always snowmobile with a buddy
Young children should not be allowed to operated a snowmobile
Know the laws and regulations which affect snowmobiling
If
snowmobiling at night, ensure your lights are working and that you are wearing
reflective clothing
Ride only on groomed trails or areas free of obstacles - avoid roads and railway
tracks
Observe the trail signs and the speed limit
Stay off frozen rivers and lakes
Always carry enough fuel
Respect private property
