Cross-Country Skiing Safety
Warm up and stretch before going cross-country skiing
Make sure you are in good physical condition
Take lessons from qualified instructor
Choose the right equipment for your skill level and size
Keep your equipment in good condition
Obey all trail signs
Dress in layers and don't forget to wear gloves and a hat
Ski only on groomed ski trails
Wear eyewear which gives good ultra-violet protection
Keep an eye out for hazards
Make sure you wax your skis often
Move aside to let faster skiers pass by
Pay special attention to distance - weariness can become a problem on the return
trip
Alcohol/Drugs don't mix with cross-country skiing
