Boating Safety
Make sure the boat is in top operating condition
Before going boating make sure you have PFDs (Personal Flotation Devices) for
each person on board
Be
familiar with the operational and handling characteristics of your boat
Maintain a safe speed at all times to avoid collision
Keep an eye out for changing weather conditions and act accordingly
Know and practice the rules of the road - navigational rules
Never overload your boat with passengers or cargo
Make sure you have the proper type of anchor
Be
extra careful when refueling your boat
Remember to shut off your engine when approaching swimmers
Take a boating safety course
Maintain a clear unobstructed forward view at all times
